Pandora Launches Three Web Sites
for General Investment and Development

BOSTON, MA July 1, 2002 – Pandora Systems announces the release of three Web sites it developed for General Investment and Development, a national real estate investment firm. The Web sites include:

www.WindsorCommunities.com
www.GeneralInvestment.com
www.WindsorBusinessParks.com

In just 5 months, Pandora Systems--in partnership with ditherdog, an award-winning design group based in Boston--designed, developed and implemented all three Web sites, which feature a sophisticated data-driven publishing system. At the same time, Pandora also designed and built a Web-based system for managing administrative functions associated with the three sites.

General Investment's flagship Web site is www.WindsorCommunities.com. Windsor Communities consists of 15,000 apartment homes in 41 communities, located in 17 states and the District of Columbia. The site audience is typically internet-savvy urban commuters comprised of young professionals and families. Pandora was chartered with designing and implementing a new Web presence for Windsor Communities that would both attract prospective tenants and retain current ones by delivering a site that was highly usable and easily maintained by their diverse set of property managers.

The Pandora/ditherdog team produced a clean interface that focuses on Windsor's individual properties, as well as highlighting other important site functions. Each of Windsor's 41 properties has its own data-driven page "set" that looks and behaves like a mini-website for that individual property. Users can access each property through a text-based URL (e.g., http://www.windsorcommunities.com/norwood).

Pandora developed the Web-based administrative system for www.WindsorCommunities.com and www.WindsorBusinessParks.com using Microsoft’s .Net framework. This administrative system enables the property managers to update content and photos for their specific property. When a property manager changes data in the system, the system automatically sends a formatted email to the appropriate listing services, including apartments.com and homestore.com.

In addition, the administrative system allows staff to track form submission from the Web sites, to ensure that user requests are being addressed in a timely fashion. This feature serves as a cost-effective placeholder while the client investigates potential CRM solutions.

The public Windsor Communities site also offers dynamically-generated PDF brochures that pull their content and data from the database.
