FOUNDERS
Colleen Hamilton, Founder and President. Colleen has 15 years of
software consulting and development experience with academic,
government, and commercial organizations. She excels in her ability
to understand both the user experience and technical issues of an
interactive challenge. As the president and co-founder of Pandora
Systems she is known for her ability to quickly assimilate a
client’s unique needs and offer optimal suggestions. Prior to
co-founding Pandora, Colleen worked as a senior consultant at an
area consulting firm where she was chief technical architect for the
award winning Massport.com project. Before software consulting,
Colleen was actively engaged as scientist for General Research
Corporation where she was responsible for experiment planning and
data analysis for missile-shield experiments. Colleen received her
BS degree in Physics from Northeastern University. She is known as a
content management expert and is often asked for her opinion on the
industry.
Tim Laughlin, Pandora Systems, Founder and CTO. Tim is the technical
leader at Pandora Systems. His strength lies in his considerable
talent in both software development and in system/network
configuration. He excels at educating clients on the complete
technical ramifications of their ideas. He is currently working with Massport.com to convert their real-time flight data application to
an XML-based solution and is also designing an XML-based virtual
workspace for the Alzheimer Research Forum. Tim is an expert in
distributed application architecture with a focus on middle tier
business logic, data accesses, and database system design. While at
Pandora, Tim was also the chief technical architect for the DFCI
Internet project and the MediaMap Portal project. Prior to
co-founding Pandora, Tim worked as a software engineer for companies
like Fidelity Investments and Scudder Kemper Investments. Tim
received his BS in education from Kutztown University.
KEY TEAM MEMBERS
Tom Dunn, Senior Software Engineer. Tom is a talented software
engineer who specializes in developing Web applications on the .NET
platform. Tom served as lead programmer and principal architect for
EngineNuity, Pandora’s recently-launched Web-management service.
Tom’s other achievements include building the on-line boutique for
the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where patients can peruse and
purchase the boutiques products in the privacy of their own home.
Tom’s many technical skills include programming of Web-database
connectivity and e-commerce applications. His professional
certifications include Microsoft Certified Professional and Sun
Certified Java 2 Programmer. In his spare time, Tom volunteers as a
computer educator to inner-city youth. To aid in this work, Tom
wrote “Judo,” a Java-based programming environment for beginners
that is now used extensively around the country to teach basic
programming skills to children. Tom also designed and built the
“Funbox 2000,” an arcade-game simulator. Tom graduated from
Northeastern University with a degree in Computer Science.
Jay Rothschild, Director of Client Services. Jay has been
working in interactive design and development for nearly a decade.
Over the course of his career, he has been a copy writer, editor,
information architect, and project manager before crossing over to
account management. Jay's duties include overseeing all on-going
client relationships at Pandora and helping with new business
development and marketing strategy, as well as providing project
management and information design help when needed. Before joining
Pandora, Jay worked in the Electronic Media Research and Development
group at Cahners Business Information. While at Cahners, he designed
an electronic content syndication system, and was a member of the
Publishing Requirements for Industry Standard Metadata (PRISM)
working group. He presented his paper, “The Role of Standard
Metadata in a Portal Publishing System,” at the XML Europe 2000
conference. Jay was also an original member of the Information
Systems Design group at Chase Bobko, a Seattle-based company that
specialized in CMS consulting. Jay has a Master’s degree in
Classical Literature from the University of Washington and a
Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College.
Don Winkelmes, Senior Software Engineer. An expert in process
analysis, workflow, and database design, Don has been helping public
and private institutions use technology to change and improve the
efficiency of their business processes since 1995. He recently
developed an online system to help property managers track their
monthly budgets and generate month-end reports. He has developed
sophisticated database-driven applications for several Pandora
customers. Before joining Pandora, Don worked as a developer at
Scudder Kemper Investments, coding in all tiers of the distributed
n-tier application architecture to build a highly scalable customer
relationship management system. Don holds an MBA from the Bentley
College Graduate School of Business and a BA from Stonehill College
in Easton, MA.
