Tom Snyder Productions

The Client:

Tom Snyder Productions (TSP) is an award-winning creator of software designed to inspire both teachers and students. Their software titles cover social studies, language arts, mathematics and science and include such best sellers as “Decisions, Decisions”, “Graph Master” and “Science Court”. Tom Snyder Productions software is used by more than 250,000 teachers.

The Content Engineering Challenge:

Although their software received rave reviews from teachers and students everywhere, purchasing Tom Synder’s products on-line was a difficult and uninspiring process that did not reflect TSP's reputation or values. TSP decided to emphasize the web as a significant sales channel and knew they needed an online buying overhaul for this inititiative to be successful. They had a complex product line and very ambitious goals that they wanted to achieve on a limited budget.

Our Solution:

Pandora Systems designed and implemented a complex product database and corresponding e-commerce system for TSP, incorporating numerous pricing points, multiple license discounts and special package offers. They also created a user-friendly shopping cart system and ensured secure transactions using Microsoft Site Server infrastructure. Pandora also provided TSP with a process to channel web orders through their existing fulfillment system at a substantial cost savings to the client. To maintain their complex product content, Pandora built TSP a simple content management application tailored to their needs.

• After the new site was launched, web orders were up 70% over the same time period the previous year.
